We Are
Green Point Netball Club
Est. 1964
The Green Point Kookaburras are the local netball club of Oyster Bay, playing in the Sutherland Shire Netball Association (SSNA) competitions.
Green Point Netball Club was founded in 1964 after a group of Oyster Bay residents were keen to establish an organised sporting club for the for the girls of the area. The local schools were contacted and a day arranged when the girls could ‘put their names down’ to play netball. By the end of that day over 90 girls had their name on that list so formed the Green Point Basketball (later to become Netball) Club associated with Green Point Sports Club.
The Sports Club was a very busy community-based club which included cricket, table tennis, soccer, and even held rowing regattas on the Georges River.
Today, netball brings the world together. At Green Point, we continue our proud history built on teamwork, inclusivity and passion for the game – all while creating lifelong friendships and besties both on and off the court.
